A Lifetime of Travel

I grew up in a family of rockhounds. Every time we'd go on a trip, we'd bring back interesting rocks that we found. There is nothing quite like going out into the world and actually finding a stone-like an opal or a garnet-that no one has ever seen before. It's literally finding buried treasure. Maybe someday I'll share my personal collection, because at this point I only keep my absolute favorites.

Anyway, my parents have collected so many over the years that there are piles of them lying around in their yard. These came from one pile next to the driveway. I'm a bit rusty in my identification, otherwise I'd tell you what they are.
